Terms of use

Last updated 14 October 2026

By creating a BarIQ account or using the site, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use BarIQ.

Your account

You must be 21 or older to create an account. Confirming your age at signup is part of the agreement. This matches the minimum age to buy and drink alcohol in every US state.

You must give a real email address and keep your password private. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us if you think someone else has access to it.

An account can be signed in on one device at a time. Signing in on a new device ends the session on the old one. Accounts are personal and can't be shared.

What BarIQ is

BarIQ suggests cocktails based on the ingredients you enter. Suggestions, substitutions and ingredient matches are a guide, not professional advice. Check recipes and ingredients yourself, and drink responsibly.

Recipes you add

You keep ownership of recipes you create. By publishing one, you give BarIQ permission to show it to other users and to store it. You confirm that you have the right to share it, that it doesn't infringe anyone else's rights, and that it doesn't contain unlawful or abusive content.

Reports and removal

Anyone can report a recipe. We may hide a recipe that breaks these terms or receives reports, and we may remove any content at our discretion.

Acceptable use

Don't try to break, overload, or get around the site's security; scrape it at scale; attack other users; or use BarIQ to sell alcohol or to market to other users without our written permission.

Ending your use

You can stop using BarIQ and delete your account at any time from your profile. We may suspend or end accounts that break these terms.

No warranty and limits of liability

BarIQ is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of BarIQ.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date above shows the latest version. Continuing to use BarIQ after a change means you accept it.
